I wrote, directed and starred in my very first commercial when I was only 12 years old. Granted there were no cameras, crew or even craft service present at the time, but that didn’t stop my little cousin and myself from jumping in and out of a pool in Palm Springs with Diet Cokes in hand yelling, “Diet Coke! Drink it!” While the concept, if you can call it one, was certainly terrible you kind of have to admire the simplicity and boldness of the writing.
Here I am many years later and while my conceptual thinking and writing have much improved, three things still remain the same. I believe that ideas and the words that go with them need to be simple yet bold. I have a lot of fun doing what I do. Palm Springs kind of sucks.
A Chicago native, I have spent the last 15+ years working at various advertising agencies in New York City, lending a helping hand on many different brands in the traditional, digital and social spaces. When I’m not working you can find me watching movies, reading, writing screenplays/pilots, being a perpetual student of history and trying to convince anyone who will listen that Chicago hot dogs are far better than New York hot dogs.
